Campus Deadline: early December 2012, TBD

The Davis Project for Peace Grant provides funding for grassroots projects implemented during the summer. The objective is to encourage and support today’s motivated youth to create and tryout their own ideas for building “peace”. Intentionally, there is no clear definition for what is meant by “projects for peace”. Students are encouraged to define for themselves what a “project for peace” might be.

Projects that are judged to be “the most promising and do-able” will receive $10,000 in funding. Projects may be located anywhere world-wide.  Projects with larger budgets are welcome as is co-funding from other sources (such as from individual/other philanthropists, foundations, organizations, student fund-raising, etc.).

Eligibility and Selection Criteria:

  • There are no citizenship requirements
  • First-year through seniors (seniors must be working with first year, sophomores or juniors)
  • Individuals or groups of students may submit project proposals
  • Projects may be implemented anywhere worldwide
  • Creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship are valued with respect to the nature and scope of the project
  • The articulation of expected outcomes and prospects for future impact
  • Projects that are realistic, do-able, and feasible with respect to location, budget and summer timeframe
