The Fellowships Office provides support to students and alumni applying for nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships.

The office administers several prestigious scholarship and fellowship programs that require Lafayette endorsement prior to submission. In addition, the office assists students applying for scholarships that do not require Lafayette endorsement.

The office engages students and alumni in thinking about their goals, guides them in preparing their applications for submission to national foundations, and provides mock interview experience. The application process takes a significant amount of time; therefore, it is important for applicants to be fully engaged in working with the fellowship adviser and their faculty mentors.

Our intent is to help applicants put together an outstanding application. As such, we provide:

  • Guidance on the application process
  • Assistance in writing and revising application essays
  • Interview preparation
  • Referrals to resources and information on major scholarships
  • Advice from past scholarship winners and finalists

In the process, students will also improve written and oral communication skills, and identify career goals, values, and interests. Despite the highly competitive nature of these programs, Lafayette students have successfully competed over the years.

Interested individuals, including first-year students and recent graduates, are encouraged to  make an appointment with Dean Goldberg  to discuss these opportunities by emailing externalscholarships@lafayette.edu.
