Information about the Fulbright

Fulbright provides opportunities, regardless of discipline, for graduate study, advanced research or teaching English in over 155 countries. The Fulbright program is designed to give students, young professionals and artists opportunities for intellectual, academic, professional and artistic development and growth along with international experience. Grant support may vary slightly between countries; typically, however, the US Student Grants provide one year of funding for travel, tuition and fees/research allowance, health and accident insurance, and a stipend for living expenses.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • US citizens
  • Preference will usually be given to candidates who have not resided or studied in the country to which they are applying for more than 6 months. Students who have studied abroad in the host country for a semester or year are not disqualified!
  • Seniors and graduates of all ages
  • See host country details for specific selection criteria esp. regarding knowledge of the host country language
