| Critical Language Scholarship Program | Open to US citizens. Summer intensive language study (typically in host country, living with a host family): Languages: Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bangla, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese Punjabi, Russian, Swahili, Turkish and Urdu. Some languages require previous language study/knowledge which may be obtained by self-directed study by uptake of award. | Early-Mid November |
| Critical Language Scholarship SPARK Program | US citizenship required. Opportunity to study Russian, Chinese or Arabic throughout the academic year through online classes and activities. | Goldwater Scholarship | Eligibility: US citizens, permanent residents, and US nationals are eligible. Applicants must aspire to pursue a STEM research career in a natural science, mathematics or engineering. | *Mid December |

| Boren Scholarship | US citizenship required. Study abroad in a non-Western country. Study abroad must include language intensive instruction. STEM students may opt to study abroad for the summer only. Otherwise, programs should be a semester or longer in duration. | *Mid December |
| Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program | US citizenship required. This 6 week summer program provides students with a deeper appreciation of current issues and trends in international affairs and a greater understanding of career opportunities in international affairs.

| NOAA-Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship | US citizenship required. Open to students in a discipline including, but not limited to: oceanic, environmental, biological, and atmospheric sciences, mathematics, engineering, remote sensing technology, computer & information science, physical & social sciences including geography, hydrology, geomatics, or teacher education that support NOAA’s programs and mission. Scholarship includes paid summer internships at NOAA facilities across the US. | January |

| Humanity in Action | No citizenship requirements. Fellows spend a month (June or July) in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland or the US (Atlanta) working as a team alongside civic leaders addressing humanitarian issues relevant to a particular locale.
